Smooth is fast, so do not rush
Slow is smooth, and smooth is genuinely fast. Rushing only appears faster because progress is immediately visible. But in reality, careless decisions create mistakes, and those mistakes require more time to understand, undo, and correct.
How often do we lose more time trying to be fast than we would have spent simply doing the work properly? We try to reach the final result immediately instead of respecting the steps required to reach it. The outcome may appear complete, but it will usually be worse because it was not done attentively or in the correct order.
Fundamentals are what allow speed later. When you understand why something works, you can repeat it, adapt it, and recognise when it does not. Even if a rushed result is objectively correct, it remains fragile if you do not understand why it is correct.
As the Navy SEALs say: Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast.
